"Low Cost, High Quality"

My Business
I believe I that I see a niche in the market. People want a good quality wedding video, but dont want to pay anything
approaching £1000 for it. However they still want all the services and quality that the competition offers.
I am just starting out, and thought about how to tackle this industry with a Fresh, Modern and New approch.
With Brand New 2015/16 Technologys the cost of achiving such results are lower than before. (much more so than
10 - 15 years ago when tape was lower quality and digital Videography was very expensive),
Some of the equiptment/ Hardware for the process I already owned, thus lowering my initial startup costs.
From previously learnt experience, and the modern marvel of the Internet (Google/ Youtube ect...) I was able to teach
myself the skills nessesery for the filming, editing, packaging of the product, as well as the basics of business in general.
My serivce, is to put in the hours in to "Plan" and "Cover" the big day. To get all those important moments captured, and to
turn all that raw material into the compleated video, then, taking many more hours, to produce a finished product on
USB with an accompanying back up of the files on BD-R (blu-ray disk) for piece of mind.
(Please see examples of my work so far on my Examples page )
(or more in depth about the Tech behind it on my Tech page)
About Me
Hello, I'm Wesley, & I am from from Colchester, Essex,
Quick bit of backround about me, back in my college/ uni days i studied a Degree in Popular and Comtempory Music.
Part of this Course involved alot of sound editing, music production. This formed the basis of my skills as there are many parrellels with sound editing and Video editing.
In the years that followed, at home as a hobby I put many video projects together for both myself and others..
So......, what what got me started in Videography for Weddings?
Well,... in 2012 I got married. And as part of that had a Videographer film my Wedding.
(As he had done my Wifes parents wedding video 25 years earlier, he came well recommended... )
When it came to recieveing it, I couldn't help thinking i could have done a Much better job....
Firstly dispite him having a bulky high end camera that Yes "Looks the Part". It was from the 1990's, he had owned it for years,
the tech inside it had became obsolete. It only recorded Standard Def dispite being broadcast quality.
It used tapes..not digital storage. There was a slight noise line along the bottom of the screen and his editing suite didnt involve a
modern computer, but what I now know, to be an outdated "Linier", editing station...
At the time we were told it was going to be a blu-ray using his HD camera. We got,.. a DVD, the 2nd camera used was HD, but old (2005?)... (used tapes). There was a series of editing errors (His boom Mic was in some of the shots, A clip repeated twice, there was a random loud noise for half a second during the evening dancing....
The cost of this just over £700, most of these issues are small and I suppose its still nice to watch, .... but I couldn't help thinking after so many years of going to weddings, the guy had got complacent.....
So ..... when it came to me doing my first couple of weddings, I try to think of quality, and producing a good solid product with what I have. Quality doesn't need to cost a fortune.
